    03 — WHERE IT STARTS

    Recovery-led vsprevention-led

Churn Buster is built around two moments: a failed payment and a cancel. North Metric is built around the weeks before either.

Your cancel page stays as it is. North Metric adds no screen before it.
Churn Buster handles a failed payment with its dunning, and a cancel with its cancel flows, save offers and exit feedback.

Its team builds the first version with you and keeps testing offers (churnbuster.io, checked Oct 18, 2026). It's strong at both.

North Metric finds the customers likely to churn, ranked by money at risk, and drafts the move to keep each one.

Failed payments and cancel offers complete the loop; they aren't where it starts.

North Metric runs no retries, no dunning sequences and no cancel flow of its own.

Stripe handles the retries, and Stripe's cancel page handles the click.

North Metric's churn prediction gives every paying Stripe customer a risk level, a 0–100 risk score and up to three reasons with data and dates: seats cut, a plan downgraded, a discount ending, usage down against the customer's own baseline.

Usage comes from PostHog or Stripe Meters, and customers who pay only for usage show as fading before they stop.

Each one comes with a drafted move: a check-in note in your name, a save email when a cancel is scheduled, a card-update note after Stripe's retries end.

You approve it, or set rules with limits.

Churn Buster counts a recovery only once a payment clears, runs A/B tests on its offers, and its free Measure plan records a baseline to compare later changes against (churnbuster.io, checked Oct 18, 2026).

North Metric publishes no accuracy or lift figures until there's data to back them.

North Metric shows Kept MRR: the MRR of customers saved, recovered or won back by moves in the last 12 months, while they still pay, tied to invoices.

Payments Stripe recovers during its retries are never counted.

It also holds back 10% of at-risk customers by default and compares churn between the two groups.

Results show as ranges, labeled Early until there's enough data.

    FAQ

    Still deciding?Fair questions.

No: it runs no retries and no dunning sequences, since Stripe's Smart Retries do that. When Stripe's retries end, or at once for hard declines, North Metric drafts a card-update note in your name for customers worth keeping. You approve each one.
